An Act relative to the cancellation of certain health insurance policies.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 100H of Chapter 175 is hereby amended by inserting after the section, the following sentence: An insured individual age sixty-five or older can designate someone else to be notified sixty days prior to the date of intended cancellation. If the company fails to notify the individual designated by the insured, such policy shall remain in effect until such notification or until ninety days after the insured reaches age sixty-five, whichever shall first occur.
