An Act to require written notice of medical tests outside a patient’s network for insurance purposes.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.

Any physician or physician practice manager within a patient’s network for insurance purposes, that orders tests, procedures, or lab work which will be conducted outside the physician’s office or specific practice, shall be required to notify the patient in writing prior to said test whether the tests, procedures, or lab work will be conducted by a facility outside the patient’s network for insurance purposes.
