An Act to ensure testimony in gang related cases.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Section 5 of chapter 233 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following sentence:-
“Where the defendant is accused of a violent crime as defined in section 121 of chapter 140 that is a result of gang activity the punishment for such failure to attend shall be by a fine of not more than $10,000 or by imprisonment for not more than 1 year or both.”.
