An Act relative to healthcare cost control.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Paragraph (b) of section 9 of Chapter 6D is hereby amended by striking out sections (1) and (2) and inserting in place thereof the following two new sections:

“(1) For calendar years 2013 through 2015, the health care cost growth benchmark shall be equal to the growth rate of potential gross state product established under section 7H½ of chapter 29; provided, however, that the growth rate of potential gross state product for calendar year 2013 shall be 3.6 per cent.

(2) For calendar years 2016 through 2022, the health care cost growth benchmark shall be equal to the growth rate of potential gross state product established under said section 7H½ of said chapter 29, minus 2 per cent.
