An Act relative to youth marijuana use prevention and education.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. The department of public health shall create a campaign to educate youth about the heath harms and risks of marijuana use to be funded with monies from the marijuana regulation fund established by chapter 94G of the General Laws. The campaign shall include warnings about the dangers of underage use of marijuana, overuse and abuse of marijuana and any other adverse health effects that are related to the use or abuse of marijuana.

SECTION 2. The executive office of public safety and security, in conjunction with the department of public health, shall create a campaign to inform the public about responsible adult legal use of marijuana to be funded with monies from the marijuana regulation fund established by chapter 94G of the General Laws. The campaign shall include specific information about what is legal and illegal under chapter 334 of the acts of 2016, and the health risks associated with marijuana use.
