An Act relative to energy efficient marijuana cultivation.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the secretary of energy and environmental affairs, in consultation with the commissioner of energy resources, the commissioner of environmental protection and the commissioner of agricultural resources, shall make recommendations for energy and water use efficiency for licensed marijuana cultivators in the commonwealth.

The secretary shall file the recommendations as a report with the house and senate chairs of the joint committee on telecommunications, utilities and energy, the house and senate chairs of the joint committee on marijuana and the clerks of the house of representatives and the senate by January 15, 2018. The cannabis control commission shall promulgate regulations based on these recommendations.
