An Act relative to motor vehicle warranties.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 9 of Chapter 93B of the general laws, as appearing in the 2012 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting the following subsection at the end thereof:-
“(k) An insurer shall not dictate the use of a part that compromises the operational safety or structural integrity of the vehicle. No insurer shall mandate non-OEM parts on any vehicle still under manufacturer warranty or lease agreement.”
