An Act relative to local review for public structures.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 3 of chapter 40A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition is hereby amended by inserting after the words "building coverage requirements;", in lines 51-52, the following words:-

and provided further, that said land or structures, if used for educational purposes on land owned or leased by the commonwealth or any of its agencies, subdivisions or bodies politic, shall be subject to a review by the appropriate zoning authority of the host community concerning the bulk and height of structures and determining yard sizes, lot area, setbacks, open space, parking and building coverage requirements. Said review shall include but not be limited to a public hearing before the appropriate zoning authority and an opportunity for written public comment.
