SECTION 1. Section 129C of chapter 140 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting, in line 11, after the word “revolver.” the following:-
Violators shall be punished by a fine of not less than $1,000 nor more than $5,000, or by imprisonment for not less than 1 year nor more than 5 years, or by both such fine and imprisonment. If such rifle, shotgun or ammunition is used in the commission of a crime that results in grievous bodily injury or death, the owner shall be punished by a fine of not less than $5,000 nor more than $10,000, or by imprisonment for not less than 5 years nor more than 10 years, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
