An Act relative to civil service resident preference.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 58 of Chapter 31 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting at the end of the third paragraph, the following new sentence :-

“By a vote of the legislative body, a city or town shall consider an applicant as having resided in that city or town for one year immediately prior to the date of the examination, if the applicant so chooses if they have obtained a high school diploma from a school in that city or town or resided in that city or town when they received their high school diploma.”
