An Act authorizing the state board of retirement to grant creditable service to Michael L. Broyles.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the state board of retirement shall credit Michael L. Broyles, an employee of the parole board, with creditable service for the service he rendered to the parole board for the period of September 6, 2015 to July 9, 2016 for the purpose of determining his superannuation retirement allowance under chapter 32 of the General Laws.

SECTION 2.  Eligibility for this creditable service shall be conditioned upon payment by Michael L. Broyles to the state employees' retirement system of an amount equal to the amount that would have been deducted under said chapter 32 if he had received regular compensation during the applicable period at the annual rate of regular compensation that he was receiving immediately before this period, together with regular interest on that amount. Such repayment shall be made in 1 lump sum or in installments, as the state retirement board shall prescribe, within 60 days after the effective date of this act.
