An Act authorizing the Norfolk County retirement board to acquire real property in Norfolk County.
Whereas, The deferred operation of this act would tend to defeat its purpose, which is to authorize forthwith the Norfolk County retirement board to acquire real property in Norfolk County, therefore, it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public convenience., therefore, it is hereby declared to be an emergency law, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public [Emergency Preamble Context].
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the Norfolk County retirement board may, in accordance with guidelines established by the public employee retirement administration commission, purchase an appropriate real property located within Norfolk County to use for the administrative office of the Norfolk County retirement system and may purchase or lease equipment and employ any personnel as necessary for the proper administration and transaction of the business of the retirement system.
