An Act enhancing access to electronic public records.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 19 of chapter 66 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following subsection:-
(c) Every city or town that operates a public website shall provide on that website searchable electronic copies, accessible in a commonly available electronic format, of public records pursuant to clause twenty-sixth of section 7 of chapter 4, provided that any city or town may withhold any record or portion thereof in accordance with state or federal law.
