An Act relative to the inclusion of online courses in mandatory continuing education for electricians.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1: Section 1 of chapter 141 is hereby amended by inserting after the last paragraph the following paragraph:

“Board” means the Board of State Examiners of Electricians except as otherwise defined.

SECTION 2: Chapter 141 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 10, the following section:

Section 11: Continuing education rules and regulations

(1)The board may adopt rules and regulations for a system of continuing education, which shall include a list of approved online and classroom based courses, compliance with which shall be a condition precedent to the renewal of licenses issued by the board.

(2)The board shall establish and enforce guidelines for continuing education course providers to apply for placement on the list of approved continuing education courses.
