An Act relative to Northeast Regional Infrastructure Bank.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is hereby directed to explore establishing a Northeast Regional Infrastructure Bank (NRIB) with other northeastern states’ transportation departments including, but not limited to, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, and Rhode Island, for the purpose of creating a regional vision, prioritization, and investment in transportation projects.
SECTION 2. A report shall be filed with the Clerks of the Senate and House of Representatives, and Chairs of the Joint Committee on Transportation not more than one year after the enactment date of this act. The report shall include, but not be limited to, action taken by MassDOT, details of meetings with other states’ transportation departments, next steps, target deadlines, and the status of establishing a NRIB.
