An Act designating a certain bridge in the town of Needham as the James J. Delaney II, UMSC Veterans Memorial Bridge.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Project #60635 I 95 Interchange, Kendrick Street  bridge  and Route 128 in the Town of Needham shall be designated and known as the “James J. Delaney II, UMSC  Veterans Memorial Bridge” in recognition of James J. Delaney, a beloved resident of Needham, who passed away on March 26, 2016.  Sgt. Delaney was a World War II and Korean War veteran who participated in the Battles of Iwo Jima and Okinowa. He was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation Navy Accommodation Medal, two Asiatic Combat Stars, and the Purple Heart.  The Massachusetts Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain a suitable marker bearing the designation in compliance with the standards of the department.
