Resolve for memorializing the Massachusetts Delegation, and the United States Congress, on the need for general support of NATO.
Resolved, 1.) The Great and General Court of Massachusetts, hereby Resolves that we generally support, the long-established membership of The United States, as a member state, of NATO, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Since its founding in 1949, it has grown, helped to secure the peace of the North Atlantic, and much of Europe, and expanded freedom across many countries.
2.) Many of our NATO allies, have fought together with us, in recent, and ongoing conflicts, and have provided significant assistance to us, in our ongoing war against terrorism.
3.) It is in the interests of keeping peace, and expanding freedom, that The United States remain active, and supportive of NATO, and Massachusetts wishes to go on record, as supporting those efforts.
