An Act to protect medically needy veterans.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 25 of chapter 118E of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after subsection (5), the following new section:-
(6) The entire amount of a monthly veteran’s payment from the Department of Veteran’s Affairs, including a pension paid to the veteran or to a widowed spouse of a veteran shall be non countable, if any portion of the monthly benefit paid to the veteran or widowed spouse as a result of unreimbursed medical expenses consists of aid and attendance or housebound benefits.
