An Act authorizing the Berkshire County Regional Housing Authority to convey a certain parcel of land in the town of Sheffield to the Great Barrington Housing Authority.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. (a) Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary and subject to the approval of the Department of Housing and Community Development, the Berkshire County Regional Housing Authority may convey to the Great Barrington Housing Authority for no consideration a certain parcel of land with the buildings thereon located in the town of Sheffield and described in a deed recorded in the Southern Berkshire registry of deeds in book 00660, page 186. The property shall be used to provide additional housing for low-income families pursuant to the housing program established in chapter 705 of the acts of 1966 and for the housing of elderly persons of low income pursuant to the program established in chapter 667 of the acts of 1954, in accordance with chapter 121B of the General Laws and the regulations of the department of housing and community development.
(b) In the operation of the housing programs referenced in section 1, the Great Barrington Housing Authority shall provide a preference for admission to housing applicants who are residents of the town of Sheffield.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
