An Act forestalling fake news through reading comprehension.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 1:  (a) The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education shall develop a revised English Language Arts curriculum framework and History and Social Science curriculum framework that incorporates course work on civic online reasoning.

(b) for the purposes of this section, “civic online reasoning” shall mean the ability to assess the credibility and quality of information found on the internet, including social media, through critical reading and analysis skills.
