An Act authorizing the city of Easthampton to lease certain real estate.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Nothwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the city of Easthampton acting by and through its city council and its mayor, may enter into a long-term lease for a term not to exceed 40 years to facilitate the transformation of existing performance space into a dynamic, flexible, multi-function facility capable of serving theater groups, film, musical performances, and other public functions as well as improve accessibility by installing a separate entrance with elevator access at the old town hall. Such lease may provide that the lessee shall be responsible for the design, development, construction, and maintenance of improvements to the site as may be outlined in the lease agreement.
SECTION 2. The parcel is shown as Map 51 parcel 3 on the city of Easthampton's assessor's map.
SECTION 3. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
