An Act commemorating first landing day.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Chapter 6 is hereby amended by adding after section 15CCCCCC the following new section:
Section 15DDDDDD. The governor shall annually issue a proclamation setting apart the second Saturday in November as First Landing Day to honor the pilgrims that sailed aboard the Mayflower and made landfall on what is now the Town of Provincetown, and their subsequent exploration of environs in what is now the Town of Truro and the Town of Eastham, and to further honor the native peoples who inhabited what is now Barnstable County at contact, and recommending that said day be observed by the people in an appropriate manner.
