Ordered, That, there shall be a special committee on the part of the Senate on net neutrality and consumer protection. The committee shall consist of 7 members of the Senate, 5 of whom shall be appointed by the senate president and 2 of whom shall be appointed by the senate minority leader. The committee shall review the Federal Communications Commission’s order entitled “Restoring Internet Freedom”, which was adopted on December 14, 2017. The committee shall make recommendations concerning the Senate response to this order, with the goal of protecting Massachusetts consumers. The committee may file its recommendations including, but not limited to, legislation, with the clerk of the Senate not later than April 13, 2018.
