An Act relative to the Lafayette Trail.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Chapter 29 of the acts of 1997 is hereby amended by inserting after the word “Hinsdale” the following words:- until the intersection with state highway Route 8.

SECTION 2. Chapter 29 of the acts of 1997 is hereby further amended by inserting after the first paragraph the following paragraph:-

The following portions of state highway shall be designated and known as the General Lafayette Trail: that portion of state highway Route 8 beginning in the town of Hinsdale at the intersection with state highway Route 143 and continuing northwesterly through the town of Dalton and the city of Pittsfield until the intersection with state highway Route 9; that portion of state highway Route 9 beginning in the city of Pittsfield at the intersection with state highway Route 8 and continuing westerly until the intersection with state highway Route 20; that portion of state highway Route 20 beginning in the city of Pittsfield at the intersection with state highway Route 9 and continuing westerly through the town of Hancock up to the New York State border. The department of highways shall erect and maintain suitable markers bearing said designations.
