An Act relative to labor market areas and the foundation budget.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any special or general law to the contrary, the department of elementary and secondary education shall study and review the current utilization of labor market areas and the calculation of the foundation budget to determine whether such information is being used appropriately and accurately. The department of elementary and secondary education shall submit a report with their findings with recommendations for revisions to the utilization of the labor market areas to the executive office of education, the joint committee on education, and the clerks of the house and senate on or before December 31, 2019.
