Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, The executive office shall report to the house and senate committees on ways and means not later than June 30, 2018 on the availability of a waiver and, if applicable, the estimated net state cost of a waiver that would allow individuals qualifying for Medicaid and at risk of entering a nursing home to reside in a certified assisted living residence. the executive office of health and human services may request a waiver from the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to allow individuals qualifying for Medicaid and at risk of entering a nursing home to reside in a certified assisted living residence.
