An Act relative to privately operated animal shelters and rescue organizations.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 1.  Section 39A of Chapter 129 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is amended by striking the second paragraph, in lines 17 to 17, and inserting in place thereof the following:-

This section shall not apply to a publicly or privately owned zoological park, a publicly owned animal pound, a privately operated animal shelter or rescue organization, to persons selling, exchanging or otherwise transferring the offspring of their personally owned animals, or to horse or cattle auctions.
