An Act relative to transportation network companies.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Subsection (c) of section 3 of Chapter 159A1/2 of the General Laws is hereby amended by striking out clause (iv) and inserting in place thereof the following:

(iv) that the transportation network company disclose to riders the fare or fare calculation method on its website or within the online application. 

SECTION 2.  Clause (viii) of subsection (c) of section 3 of Chapter 159A1/2 of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after the words “customer service hotline” the following words:- or online system

SECTION 3.  Clause (viii) of subsection (c) of section 3 of Chapter 159A1/2 of the General Laws is hereby further amended by inserting after the words “hotline number” the following words:- or link to the online system

SECTION 4. Section 2 of Chapter 159A1/2 of the General Laws is hereby amended by striking out subsection (e) and replacing with the following:-

(e) A transportation network company shall establish and implement a written policy capping dynamic pricing during a federal or a governor-declared state of emergency.
