An Act relative to the primary care workforce development and loan repayment grant program at community health centers.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, there shall be established a Primary Care Workforce Development and Loan Repayment Grant Program at Community Health Centers to enhance recruitment and retention of primary care physicians and other clinicians at community health centers throughout the commonwealth for a period beginning January 1, 2018 and ending December 31, 2021. The grant program shall be administered by the department of public health; provided, that the department may contract with an organization to administer the grant program. The program established under this act shall be a continuation of the program established under Chapter 224 of the Acts of 2012 and section 25N3/4 of chapter 111 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 edition, and shall seek to continue its successes.
