An Act relative to work requirements.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 2 of chapter 18 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended in subsection (B) by inserting the following new paragraph:-

(t) require all recipients over the age of 18 to work to remain eligible for cash assistance. Recipients must work the required hours per week as specified in 106 CMR 203.400(A)(5). This provision shall not apply to recipients who are attending a secondary school full time, participating in an education or training activity, as defined in 106 CMR 203.400(A)(2)(i), or exempt from the work requirements under 106 CMR 203.400(A)(1)(a) through (c), inclusive. The recipient must meet this requirement within 60 days of receiving cash assistance.
