By Mr. Keenan, a petition (accompanied by bill, Senate, No. 878) of John F. Keenan, William N. Brownsberger, James M. Cantwell, Richard J. Ross and other members of the General Court for legislation to expand protection under the Good Samaritan law for drug-related overdoses.  The Judiciary.

An Act expanding protection under the Good Samaritan law for drug-related overdoses.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 34A of Chapter 94C of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the figure “35”, in lines 4 and 11, the following:-

“, or found in violation of a condition of probation or pre-trial release as determined by the courts or a condition of parole as determined by the Parole board,”

SECTION 2. Said Section 34A of Chapter 94C of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby further amended by inserting after the word “substance”, in lines 5 and 12, the following words:-

“or violation”
