An Act to promote healthy families.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. The second paragraph of section 203 of chapter 6 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after clause (10) the following clause:-

(11) to administer a statewide neonatal and postnatal home parenting education and home visiting program for at-risk newborns.  Such program shall be made available to first-time parents under 23 years of age with a priority given to low-income parents.

SECTION 2. Clause (11) of the second paragraph of section 203 of chapter 6 of the General Laws is hereby amended by striking out the figure “23” and inserting in place thereof the following figure:- 26.

SECTION 3. Section 1 shall take effect July 1, 2019.

SECTION 4. Section 2 shall take effect July 1, 2020.
