An Act regarding gender non-specific designation for financial aid forms.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
Section 9B in Chapter 15A is hereby amended by adding the following paragraph at the end of the section:-
An applicant shall be permitted to designate “X” in lieu of “male” or “female” on any needs-based financial assistance forms or paperwork that they may need to fill out in order to be eligible to receive any financial assistance. No documentation shall be required for such designations. The Department of Higher Education may promulgate regulations to implement this change.
