An Act relative to foster care recruitment.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the department of children and families (DCF) shall investigate and report on the feasibility and best practices of launching an organized and focused foster parent recruitment campaign. As part of its report, DCF shall include, but not be limited to, information on the costs associated with such a recruitment effort, information on current recruitment practices, current costs of recruitment, and difficulties impeding DCF’s ability to recruit additional foster parents. DCF shall file its report with the chairs of the joint committee on children, families and persons with disabilities, as well as with the clerks of the house and senate, no later than July 1, 2019.
