An Act amending MGL Chapter 54 of the Acts of 2017, the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, to include protections in hiring processes for individuals who suffer a miscarriage.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 2 of Chapter 54 of the General Laws, as appearing in the Official Acts of 2017, shall hereby be amended by inserting the following immediately following item (v): “(vi) deny an employment opportunity to an employee if the denial is based on a condition related to the person’s pregnancy, including, but not limited to, a miscarriage”
