Jones, Jr. and others relative to unemployment insurance benefits for certain business owners who intentionally and knowingly close their business with deliberate intent on reopening.  Labor and Workforce Development.

An Act relative to business owners unemployment insurance benefits.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Chapter 151A of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 Edition, is hereby amended by adding after  subsection (c) in Section 24 the following new subsection:--

(d) No individual shall be considered eligible for benefits if said individual is a business owner who intentionally and knowingly closed their business, and therefor ended one’s own employment, with the intention of reopening during the ideal business season.
