An Act relative to mental health and substance abuse treatment facilities.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Chapter 19 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2014 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following section at the end thereof:-

Section 25. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, within 60 days of hiring an employee or independent contractor who may offer professional services to a patient, a mental health facility, alcohol treatment facility or drug treatment facility shall use reasonable efforts to confirm that all degrees, licenses and certificates claimed by the employee or independent contractor in connection with the application process have been obtained and are in good standing.
