An Act relative to fee waivers for registered nurses after retirement.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. Section 74 of chapter 112 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting at the end thereof the following new paragraph:-             

In the case of a registered nurse who has retired from regular practice after 40 or more years so registered, but who desires to use the title registered nurse for the purpose of volunteer events, community emergencies, or other similar circumstances, and who is otherwise qualified to be registered with such title and is up to date with continuing education requirements, the board shall waive any fees associated with registration under this section.
