An Act to refund rejected firearms license applicants.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 1. Section 131 of chapter 140 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the third paragraph the following paragraph:-

If the licensing authority fails to approve the application and issue the license or deny the application and notify the applicant of the reason for such denial in writing within 40 days from the date of the application, the applicant shall be entitled to a full refund of any fees paid for the processing of said application.
