An Act to change the corporate and housing tax credits, tax incentives, tiff.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

The economic benefits of corporate tax credits do not trickle down to the citizens of our Commonwealth nearly as much as the corporations that receive them.  Massachusetts is in need of a body that will research and assess the effectiveness corporate tax credits have on promoting economic growth in order to ensure that these credits effectively promote job creation and economic development in a fiscally efficient manner.  To this end, I propose that these tax credit, tax incentive, tiff"s ect be renamed “Corporate Welfare” to more accurately reflect their effects and raise proper awareness of the state of corporate tax credit evaluation in Massachusetts.
