An Act relative to the sale and consumption of wine, beer, and malt liquor on the premises of certain establishments.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 15 of chapter 138 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding the following paragraph:-
In any city or town that accepts this paragraph, the local licensing authority may grant a license for the sale of wines and malt beverages to be drunk on the premises to any licensee who holds a license pursuant to this section; provided, however, that the licensee must also: (i) have adequate and sanitary kitchen and dining area equipment and the capacity for preparing cooking and serving suitable food for strangers, travelers, other patrons and customers and meeting and complying with all the requirements imposed upon common victuallers licensed pursuant to chapter 140; and (ii) serve food with wines and malt beverages while the wines and malt beverages are drunk on the premises.
