An Act protecting information relating to the religious affiliation of an individual.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Chapter 6A of the General Laws is hereby amended by inserting after section 5 the following section:-

Section 5A. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, no state agency shall provide or disclose to any federal agency or authority personal information regarding the religious affiliation of any individual that is requested for the purpose of compiling a database of individuals based solely on religious affiliation.
