By Mr. Williams of Springfield, a petition (accompanied by resolve, House, No. 2799) of Bud L. Williams and others providing that the superintendent of the Bureau of State Office Buildings be authorized to erect a plaque, in the House Chamber, commemorating a portion of the address Martin Luther King, Jr., gave to a joint convention of the General Court on April 22, 1965.  State Administration and Regulatory Oversight.

Resolve providing for the erection in the house chamber of a memorial containing the text of the address which Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King Jr. delivered to a joint convention of the 2 branches of the General Court on April 22, 1965.

 

Resolved, that the superintendent of the bureau of the state house shall, subject to the approval of the art commission as to size and content, install and maintain a plaque in a suitable space in the chamber of the house of representatives a memorial of bronze or other appropriate material containing a portion of the address which Martin Luther King Jr. delivered to a joint convention of the two branches of the general court on April twenty-second, nineteen hundred and sixty-five. In determining the form of such memorial, said commission shall consult with the house committee on rules, the Massachusetts Black and Latino Legislative Caucus, and shall cause said memorial to be officially installed in the chamber of the house of representatives.
