An Act relative to the Plymouth 400th.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1. The Plymouth 400, Inc. shall work in collaboration with the Massachusetts Historical Commission and State Archives to create, design and fund in part the following costs associated with the Plymouth 400th Anniversary Celebration which may include new signage from Route 3 to Plymouth’s downtown; distinctive plaques for National Register/State Register listed properties in Plymouth’s downtown area; for the design and printing of a walking tour pamphlet of the National/State listed historic properties in Plymouth’s historic downtown; for the creation of a cell phone walking tour of the historic downtown; listing of the Mayflower ll, on the National Register of Historic Places; and provided further additional signage on roadways in and out of the historic downtown area of Plymouth to better locate listed National Register/State Register properties.

SECTION 2. For the creation of the “Plymouth 400 Preservation Grants”, a program of small 50/50 matching grants that meets the Secretary of the Interiors standards for rehabilitation, to enhance the appearance of National and State listed properties in the downtown area for the Plymouth 400th that shall be administered by the Massachusetts Historical Commission.

SECTION 3. A line item shall be established to fund a portion of the costs associated with the programs created in Sections one and two in the amount of $250,000.

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect upon passage
