An Act relative to the licensure of inspection stations.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

SECTION 1.  Section 7W of chapter 90 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after the second paragraph the following paragraph:-

The registrar shall issue, upon request, a vehicle inspection station license, for the inspection of motor vehicles pursuant to section 7A, to any franchised car dealership that has invested $7,500,000 or more in the construction of a new dealership and service facility or the reconstruction or rehabilitation of an existing facility, if such franchised car dealership is properly equipped to conduct such inspections under the relevant regulations and possesses a Class 1 license pursuant to Section 58 of Chapter 140 of the General Laws.
