An Act regarding Massachusetts Department of Transportation exemption for school buses.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Subsection (b) of section 13 of chapter 6C of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 Official Edition, is hereby amended by adding after the first paragraph the following paragraph:-
The department shall not charge or collect a toll for transit carrying a “school pupil”, as defined in section 1 of chapter 90 of the General Laws, by an official “school bus”, as defined in said section, of the commonwealth or any municipality, political subdivision or instrumentality thereof, while such vehicles are on official business.
