An Act relative to motor vehicle emission and safety inspection.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 7A of chapter 90 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking out the first paragraph and inserting in place thereof the following paragraph:-
The registrar shall establish rules and regulations providing for a periodic staggered inspection of motor vehicles; provided, however, that motorcycles and non-commercial vehicles shall be exempt from inspection.
SECTION 2. Subsection (a) of section 142K of chapter 111 of the General Laws, as so appearing, is hereby amended by inserting before the first sentence the following sentence:- This section governing motor vehicle emissions standards shall not apply to any non-commercial vehicle or motorcycle.
