An Act providing for refrigeration apprentice licenses.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 81 of Chapter 146 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 Official Edition, is hereby amended by striking paragraph 13 and inserting the following:-

“Refrigeration Apprentice,” any registered person who is working at the business of refrigeration under the supervision of a master refrigeration technician or journeyman refrigeration technician. Notwithstanding any law to the contrary, an individual who does not have a high school diploma or equivalent certification and is under the age of 18 shall not be eligible to obtain or retain a refrigeration apprentice license unless he or she can document enrollment or completion of a bureau approved chapter 74 vocational-technical program or other such program deemed equivalent by the bureau.
