An Act relative to wildlife rehabilitators.

 

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
 

Section 58 of Chapter 112 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2016 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting after subsection 8 the following:

9. A wildlife rehabilitator shall be defined as any person who is permitted as a state or federal wildlife rehabilitator and shall practice wildlife care without the direct or indirect supervision of a licensed veterinarian so far as a licensed veterinarian has issued a predetermined protocol developed with the standard of care as outlined by the licensed veterinarian in accordance to wildlife rehabilitation. As Wildlife rehabilitator shall be able to: diagnose, make a prognosis as to the sustainability to recover from disease or injury, treat, manipulate or administer drug or biologic and who does not hold himself or herself out as an omit registered veterinarian and does receive pecuniary consideration
