An Act relative to student visas and drivers licenses.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:
SECTION 1. Chapter 90 of the General Laws, as appearing in the 2018 Official Edition, is hereby amended by inserting, after section 3G, the following new section:-
Section 3H. Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the registry of motor vehicles shall ensure that each operator’s license issued to a resident with a student visa shall be valid for the remaining duration as the individual’s visa and shall be set to expire on the same day as said visa.
Any such license issued under this section shall be configured in a vertical format.
The registrar shall promulgate the rules and regulations as deemed necessary to carry out the provisions of this section.
